UN Tribunal Names Names in Rafik Hariri Assassination
The UN tribunal investigating the 2005 assassination of Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri has indicted four men in connection with the attack. Not surprisingly, all four are members of Hizbullah, and two are considered senior members including a brother in law of former master thug Imad Moughnieh, a terrorist killed in 2007 who was linked to the 1983 bombing of the US Marine barracks in Beirut.
Expect the usual suspects in Damascus, Tehran, and Hizbullah to claim that this is part of a continuing plot by the US and/or Israel, but ignore the fact that Damascus has long considered Lebanon an extension of its own territory and within its sphere of influence.
